Message from the Chairman

When we founded this Centre in 2001, the record of Nepal's cultural life was scattered across private notebooks, fading photographs and the memory of elders. Our first task was simply to write it down.

Two decades later, that record has become an archive used by researchers, municipalities and the communities themselves. It has helped restore monuments, defend fragile sites from unmanaged development, and give artisans a documented claim to their own traditions.

Tourism, handled carelessly, consumes heritage. Handled with evidence and respect, it sustains it. That distinction is the whole purpose of our work, and it remains our commitment to the communities who trust us with their history.
